Treading Blood to Sky’s End《踏血天涯》is the first book in The Legend of Nangong Xue 南宮雪傳奇 series by Fu Hongxue 傅紅雪. It was published in Wuxia World Magazine issue #1429 (issue 37 of the 28th year) on November 17, 1986. It was the featured story in that issue, running 40 pages. As far as I know it is Fu Hongxue’s first story published in Wuxia World, and it began a series that spanned 20 books plus two spinoff stories. Little is known about the author, Fu Hongxue, except that he/she took their pen name from Gu Long’s famous character (Bordertown Wanderer and Horizon, Bright Moon, Sabre).

The Legend of Nangong Xue series is notable for being a rare wuxia series featureing a female protagonist. Earlier I started translating the 11th book in the series: Blood Stains Eighteen-Point Mountain but stalled out because it was too talky and not enough actually happening. But this time I am starting with the first book in the series, which fortunately starts with action.

Treading Blood to Sky’s End is a short novel about the same length as Snowblade Vagabond.
